A Trip to Hong Kong!

Hong Kong was cold! I had to wear a jacket the whole time- even in the hotel.  We went to Hong Kong for Kiki's 5th birthday.

Hong Kong is Chinese now, but they used to be British, so they drive on the opposite side of the road as us.  It made crossing the street really tricky!

We went to a Chinese restaurant for lunch- it was disgusting!  Everything was slimy and some things we couldn't even tell what they were. 

There were lots of cool stores to shop in.

There was a park called Kowloon Park right by our hotel.  This was kind of by the entrance, but the park was really big and had lots of ways to get in.

Kowloon Park also had an aviary where we saw lots of birds.

A bird pooped right by us when we were looking at these flamingos.

We had bunk beds!  Our room was so tiny we could barely fit in it, but that's how hotels are in Hong Kong.

The streets were SO busy.

This is outside of the Hong Kong Museum of Art.  It had calligraphy, paintings, lots of dishes, and sculptures.

The buildings light up to music at night- it is like a laser show and music show and a light show on the buildings.

We went to the Avenue of Stars, where Chinese movie stars have put their handprints in cement.

We took a boat ride in the harbor.  This is a giant floating restaurant.

We road the subway to get around.

It was Chinese New Year, and this is the year of the Dragon.  There were dragons EVERYWHERE.

This was a huge church building.  It had several stories and had offices, apartments, and 3 separate chapels.

We went to the Hong Kong temple.

On Kiki's birthday we went to Hong Kong Disneyland!

Even Disneyland was decorated with dragons!

On our last day we went to a different kind of temple where fishermen burn incense and ask for lots of fish and safety.
